*** REPORT FROM THE LINE OF FIRE ***

AUSTRAILIA
FIRST MAJOR BUSHFIRES AFFECT NORTHERN NSW

Over 300 NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) firefighters are working on some 30 fires primarily affecting northern NSW today. They are joined by firefighters from National Parks and Wildlife Service and State Forests.

Today, hot temperatures and strong westerly winds up to 80km/h fanned fires around Tenterfield, Severn, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Pristine Waters and Kyogle Rural Fire Districts.

Most of the fires are at least 20kms from major residential areas where property is not under direct threat. However, there are potential concerns for remote rural properties.

A Section 44 ``bushfire emergency'' was declared today for the Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley Rural Fire Districts. Five significant fires are affecting these districts.

The main fire of concern is burning 30km southwest of Casino at Phillips Creek. The fire has burned 880ha so far and is continuing to grow.

Three other fires are burning to the west and northwest of Kyogle. These fires are not contained and are continuing to expand under the influence of strong winds. A fire burning to the east of Cedar Point also continues to expand.

``This is a developing situation and much is dependent on how the fires behave overnight and tomorrow,'' RFS Commissioner Phil Koperberg said.

``We have declared a Total Fire Ban for the Northern Rivers and Northern Tablelands weather districts tomorrow and will focus resources on fires in these areas.''

The Northern Tablelands has 12 fires burning in remote areas and not affecting property at the moment.

We offer pager coverage from Bangor, Maine to Washington DC as well as Nationwide coverage. We are resellers for Weblink Wireless, Aquis Communications, and NEP/UCOM Paging. Incident coverage includes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.

We page Working Fires and greater, Motor Vehicle Accidents using Jaws, MCI, or Medflight Helicopter. Police Incidents such as Shootings, stabbings, car chases, etc. and Major NEWS incidents.

We have a National Group for multiple alarms that we get from our affiliates across the country.

We have several groups to choose from and all groups have the option to be turned off. We also use a state of the art FLEX system which allows us to page 240 characters.

A feature for those outside our pager service area allows us to page our incidents to your personal alphanumeric pager or to your digital cell phone or any E-mail enabled wireless device.

For existing Fire Paging groups we have the TAC9 USA Computer for multiple alarm fires. A Fire Paging group sends one page to this computer, either by SNPP, WCTP, SMTP (E-mail), or TAP (dial up) and the system sends that multiple alarm fire to all your reciprocal groups. That simple !

Call us for details or check us out on the web.

Thank You for your interest in TAC9 PAGING
