*** REPORT FROM THE LINE OF FIRE ***

LOS ANGELES, CA:
GREATER ALARM STRUCTURE FIRE

On Saturday, September 13, 2003 at 1930 hours eleven companies of Firefighters, two Chief Officer Command Teams and two Rescue Ambulances responded to a greater alarm structure fire at 9777 Topanga Canyon Boulevard in the Chatsworth area. First units on scene reported a two and three story hotel over parking with smoke in the hallway. Firefighters using handlines located and confined the fire to an interior bathroom wall on the first floor of the Radisson Hotel with extension to the second floor wall and extinguished the fire in thirty-one minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was hot work by plumbers during renovation of that wing of the hotel. The loss was estimated at $20,000. ($15,000 to structure and $5,000 to contents).
