Statewide Fire Update 1900hours 17 September
More than 450 firefighters worked across 60 fires, mostly affecting Northern Tablelands, Northern Rivers and the Mid North Coast today.
About 38000ha has been burned. No properties are under direct threat.
Rural properties may come under threat, particularly in the Northern Rivers, in coming days. Property owners are asked to be aware of fire in their area and take proper property preparations.
Any fires lit in areas where permits have been revoked or Total Fire Bans have been declared will be investigated and charges can apply.
Members of the public are asked to call their district RFS Fire Control Centre for advice on whether they can light fires.
No Total Fire Bans apply tomorrow, however, fire permits have been revoked in some areas.
Conditions improved slightly across some firegrounds, with backburning achieved in some areas. Containment work continues with firefighters bulldozing lines and cutting handtool firebreaks.
See the News/Major Fire Updates section of the website for details of each area.
NORTHERN RIVERS - Kyogle, Copmanhurst, Richmond Valley, Lismore
Property owners in the vicinity of fires in these districts are asked to be vigilant and prepare their properties as a precautionary measure.
Although the fires are not directly affecting property at the moment they are still active, with some still uncontained and they will pose a problem in coming days.
Rural property owners are likely to face fire in some areas.

About 6500ha has been burnt by 15 fires in remote country, mostly in Kyogle and Copmanhurst. Clark Creek, Mt Neville, Camira and Phillips Creek fires are main fires of concern.
Additional firefighters from Far North Coast are now working in the area.

Philadelphia Area Incident Report:
The Message Board of the Youngstown FD web site has an excellent "Apparatus Dictionary". The idea is to have photos of various styles of apparatus posted there so that it can be used as a reference. The photos already in the Apparatus Dictionary vary from early motorized apparatus to new deliveries.
Want to know what a 1939 Ahrens-Fox looks like? How about a Kenworth/Pierce, a Summit tanker or a Seagrave EMS patient transport engine? Don't see a topic for the type of apparatus you're looking for? Start a new category yourself or leave a photo request! Also, if you picture is smaller than 100 kb in size, it can be uploaded and stored on the YFD site.
Look for other features like the Virtual Swap Meet (post a free for sale or wanted ad for fire related item!) and the Fire Alarm Call Box Discussion. There are dozens of photo topics in the call box discussion showing unusual pieces of alarm equipment and photos of towns that are still using their dependable Gamewell systems! Have a picture of your favorite fire station, post it in the Fire Station topic where there old and new photos of stations from coast to coast. Many fire museums have photos and information listed on the site too.
Also, there are incident scenarios and a general firefighting discussion including an interesting new thread on enclosed pump compartments. Want to discuss a fire your town had recently or ask a "how would you do it question"? You can post notices about department fund raising events, parades or other events.
So, why not take a few minutes and have a look at the site? Maybe even register as a member and post a few pictures or comments! Stop in, say Hi! to everyone, and tell us what that nickname of yours means. It's fun and free....
