This past weekend proved busy for Chesapeake firefighters, first they were called @ 7:15 p.m. friday night for a heavily involved vacant building,heavy fire was showing upon arrival of first due companies, this arson fire was knocked down within 1 hour with no injuries. On Sunday the 21 st, firefighters found a single story home with a kitchen well off, the fire was under control within 15 mins. Early the next morning firefighters found a 2 1/2 story structure with the front of the building fully involved, the fire was under control in 30 minutes with one civilian injury, caused by jumping out of the building to escape the fire. These incidents, along with the situation caused by hurricane Isabel, made for a tiring and busy weekend. Good work by all Chesapeake brothers and sisters.
