Local artist loses studio in blaze
Early-morning fire claims his work and pet birds

Sandy Proctor lost his memories Friday.
An early-morning fire destroyed the studio of the prominent Tallahassee artist. The 4,000-square-foot, barn-style studio was located behind Proctor's home in The Vineyards, an east-side neighborhood off Mahan Drive.
Proctor was awakened by a neighbor's call notifying him of the fire shortly before 8 a.m. He was able to pull only a few items from the building before it was engulfed in flames
