Home in Hastings lost to fire
From Staff
A single-story residence in Hastings was destroyed by fire Sunday night shortly after 8 p.m.
According to County Fire Chief Bobby Hall, the building was in flames when firefighters got to the scene in the 200 block of Chase Street.
Hall said the state fire marshal's office has been called because as of 11 p.m., the cause of the fire was not known.
He said there were no injuries and it was not known last night if the building was occupied at the time of the fire. He said the house was a single-story, frame building.
Firefighters from county fire stations at Crescent Beach, Hastings and West Augustine responded, he said.
