In spite of what the photo was used in the wrong context, it is still a great picture. Too bad it was not used correctly.

VICTORIA -- Forest Minister Mike de Jong says it's too bad the provincial government used a photo of an American fireman in an advertisement thanking firefighters who battled this summer's wildfires in B.C.
The photo appears in full-page newspaper ads the government took out this week.
It features a large black and white picture of a weary firefighter.
"They say a picture is worth a thousand words," the headline reads. "We say it's worth at least one. Thanks."
But the picture was bought from a U.S. photo bank and the man shown is a Seattle firefighter.
De Jong says he wishes the government had "shopped local" for the photo.
It's estimated the ads cost $150,000 to run.

Image of a rugged looking firefighter shedding a tear, from a BC Government ad, thanking all the firefighters for their massive effort to fight the most destructive forest fires in BC history, this summer. Forest Minister Mike de Jong has admitted the firefighter in the picture is from Seattle - the picture was bought from a U.S. photo bank.
