22 Alabama fire departments praised for their safety records
(Undated-AP) -- 22 fire departments in Alabama were recently
recognized for recording no fire related deaths in 2002.
The Alabama Fire Marshal's office said the awards come from the
Residential Fire Safety Institute, a national fire safety
association.
Among the cities receiving Life Safety Achievement Awards for
their aggressive fire prevention and fire education programs are:
- Center Point Fire Department, Birmingham
- Central Volunteer Fire Department, Florence
- Chelsea Fire & Rescue
- Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Department
- Flomaton Fire Rescue
- Hay Valley Fire Rescue, Parish
- Mountain Brook Fire Department
- Palmerdale Fire District
- Pell City Fire Rescue Service
- Prattville Fire Department
- Poarch Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Atmore
- Rocky Ridge Fire District, Birmingham
- Saraland Fire Rescue Department
- Scottsboro Fire Department
- Scyrene/ Chance Volunteer Fire Department
- Spanish Fort Fire Rescue Department
- Springville Fire and Rescue
- St. Elmo Irvington Fire Department
- Stewartville Volunteer Fire Department, Sylacauga
- Titus Volunteer Fire Department
- Troy Fire Department
- Vestavia Hills Fire Department
