“Life, which you so nobly serve, comes from destruction, disorder, and chaos" -The Fifth Element

“Courage, Honor, Valor, Pride" -The American Fire Fighter

    "Semper Paratus"

"Disce quasi semper victurus; vive quasi cras moriturus"
[Learn as if you were going to live forever; live as if you were going to die tomorrow.]

"Fire Fighting is one of the world's most honored but hazardous occupations. It is the duty of every fire department to practice life safety, incident stabilization, and property conservation. The firefighter's job is not comfortable or easy; it is a profession that exposes an individual to a high level of personal stress and danger. Fire fighting requires a high sense of personal dedication, a genuine desire to help people, and a high level of skill." -Essentials Of Fire Fighting, Fourth Edition

"The Hero is commonly the simplest and obscurest of men."- Henry David Thoreau

“We are who we are...we are Firefighters

We, the men and women of the Fire Service, facing the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so many, for so long with so little that the Mutts expect us to do everything with nothing...and yet with each new day, there is renewed passion and new hope, for without us, there is no hope for those who need us. It does not matter if they are young or old, rich or poor, healthy or sick, college professor or idiot. Somewhere, everyday, the call for help is made and we go... we have to, it's our call to duty, it's what we do and do well. We carry the scars of battle on our bodies and the memories our Brothers and Sisters who made the Supreme Sacrifice near and dear to our hearts. We are who we are... we are Firefighters!”

-Captain Gonzo (The one and only )

"The fearless are merely fearless. People who act in spite of their fear are truly brave."
    -James A. LaFond-Lewis

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
    -Frank Herbert

"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear."
    -Ambrose Redmoon

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success."

'Tis the business of little minds to shrink; but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death."
