It is NOT for being suspended at your Station, or being removed from Firehouse.com for being a Plonker.

LRFireE135 I do not see you in the IACOJ members list, nor recall seeing an application from you yet.

So please remove the following lines from your signature, IF you wish to join IACOJ at all.

LRFireE135 has such high quality posts that we should be in awe. I mean, where else can you find as good of a quality post on 4500 psi vs 2216 psi bottles as cited in this example:

I think his answer was directed at my comment that an advantage of high pressure SCBA was the smaller bottle.

Edited. Misunderstanding cleared up. Thanks LRFireE135.

Question Okay Guide Me In the Right Direction Here!

Alright... I just got done with reading the first reply to my post... Purple Hydrant thing... check!

As for the IACOJ... I'm lost as to what you are meaning by member list... Is there in fact a TRUE Internation Association for Crusty Old Jakes??? If so, sign me up... I was not aware that there was in fact one... I thought it was just like an inside joke sort of deal.... I'm not trying to step on anybody's toes Chief Reason... I just wasn't properly informed. Whatever happened the this Minister of Propaganda and such??? Like I said... I'm not trying to step on toes, I haven't been on the boards in a LONG time... So if you can update me somehow I would greatly appreciate it... For now... I shall remove both from my signature... Thanks for the info... A little help goes a long way... although you seem as if you have your guard up against me ... Whatever happened to being a little bit more friendly???

The Member List is what your name would appear on if you were a member.
Go to www.iacoj.com. Yes; we are a very real organization and we take it very seriously.
It's not as simple as "sign me up". We are slowly increasing membership, by design because we screen applicants. You must meet certain requirements in order to be considered for membership.
You stepped on "toes" when you ignored our President's (Captain Gonzo) request to change your signature. There is no joke.
I agree that you weren't properly informed. But you should have asked your questions FIRST. We are not a group of meanies. Part of the purpose of the IACOJ is to educate and help each other. It is the heart and soul of our organization. One look at our website will tell you that. One look at the Member List will tell you that we have the "cream of the cream" of the crop.
Sorry if it appears that we came down a little hard on you, but we are passionate about the IACOJ.
And there is a joke....but I can't tell it here. Nor can I tell it to non-members!
I can only suggest that you apply for membership. The rest is up to the Membership Committee. Did I mention that I'm on that committee?
And to the group: I calls 'em likes I sees 'em! I predicted the double whammy. We got the double whammy. Spooky!

hwoods.......LOL..... Do they have "pink siamese's" in Maryland?

Leave it to you to come up with another interesting category for those of us that have been "called down". Man...I wish I had saved the "blisterings" I got from the WT... A small book would more or less describe them!

I LOVE IT!!! Nice job Ray!

El presidente, do I have to nominate Ray to receive a Purple Hydrant for his recent banning or is it automatic once you've been booted?

    Angry I Remember Mine........

I've had several Pink Siamese moments, but the one that almost became a purple hydrant was my major rant about the fire act grants and the politics involved. Which, BTW, have not changed. Stay Safe....

If I may weigh in here folks....

I do believe that the purple hydrant had more do do with being banned unjustly....thus the re-instatement factor....I know, as was stated, that it was almost always awarded in cases were Brothers backed Brothers (sisters too)....

Cap..JB Books or whatever...he stood in the door when Motown88 took the hit, we fought to get him back, and he deserves the a award.

Artie...you got more damn medals than you have chest to hold them. You trying to be one of those "legends"?

Since becoming a member of these forums, I have taken great pride in taking on the controversial issues that show up every day at the job. I have forcefully stated my opinions and positions on the matters that matter most to most of us. I have steadfastly defended the underdog and have hopefully articulated for the dissenters who couldn't put into words their personal disdain and displeasure over an event. I have always pushed it to the limit and on occasion, a little past center. It cost me my writing gig with MembersZone and I have received the obligatory "grow up" memo from the WT.
As I sit here, swelled with pride that I was able to "finesse" the Team with some obscure insults and criticisms; all without being suspended, I still feel empty. When I look at the list; a venerable "who's who" of crusty old jakes, I long to be amongst them. But alas, I am not, for I couldn't bear to be away from my brothers and sisters for even one day. And yet; I am sad. I wish I had a Purple Hydrant. I would gladly give up my congratulatory and personally signed letter from former President Clinton for a Purple Hydrant.
If only there was another way to get a Purple Hydrant.
Congratulations to all of the Purple Hydrant recipients. I am honored to know you; I am humbled by your presence. I salute you all!
    Stay safe above all else.

    Talking Hey Art!!...........

In one of those "Water Supply" threads a while back, I told Jay I would mail him one of my 2,000 GPM+ Hydrants, since he has none. You need a Purple Hydrant? If I can find the paint, I'll fix one up and drop it in the Mail. Stay Safe....
