    Question FDNY in Indiana?

Yesterday I was in South Bend, Indiana near Notre Dame when I noticed a suburban lettered and painted with FDNY logo, etc. No light bar on roof. I first thought someone just painted it for fun, but when it passed me I noticed it had "official" New York plates. It also had a web site listed that included the word "transport". I couldn't read the rest. Anyone know what FDNY would be doing in Indiana? Maybe some Newk York brothers on here have an idea.

    Stay safe,

Ray is that true? Did you get "lost"? Decided to go to a Notre Dame Game or something?

From my understanding that each year several FDNY come to Notre Dame for a home football game. Oct 18th happens to be when they will be here. There will be a special mass on Friday evening at 5:00 pm at the Bacilica at Notre Dame and any firefighter is more than welcome to attend.

    Question Just curious

Thanks for the info. sure looked strange to see FDNY in Indiana. What is a family support vehicle? What is it's purpose? What does it do? I'm glad to see the FDNY getting out to the midwest and the land of tupperware.

    Stay Safe,

What is a family support vehicle?
Used to take injured or deceased firefighters familles around.
    What is it's purpose?
Can be used for good will calls as in going to South Bend, Indiana What does it do?
    Transport

Family Transportation Unit is privately funded. FDNY has I think 10 vehicles.
