Rural Department in need of Assistance

If you want to try and take a shot at me, just try it. I work for one of the most progressive fire departments on this side of the state. One of our new LT's could blow you out of the water on any scene any day. We have 4 chiefs from two stations, and while our equipment isn't the most modern it certainly is maintainable and adaptable. We have a budget of nearly half a million. In comparison to the city we surround and help out from time to time, they spent about our budget in a new tower ladder with all the trimmings and a new medic last year alone.

I don't need to tell you anymore because you just got owned. It is you who should be jealous of me, and just because you come from the "paid ranks" doesn't mean a thing. If you did, why'd you leave? Certainly it must have been better than working two jobs to buy equipment for a department the area you protect doesn't care about (which is unfortunate, but with you running it I can see why). Or was it other reasons, like the ones we're seeing here, the fact that you can't get along and play nice with others? That could be a reason you bought your own department, just so you wouldn't have to. You have to shoot your mouth off at every opportunity you get.

Jealous you say. I think not.

It sure is rough running off from a set budget that the community government supplies us, gee I wish we could do single person responses to alarms like you do, it sure is inconvenient having 8 or 12 guys most of the time, shame we can't buy turn-outs off e-bay and we have to buy brand new gear and equipment, and ya know the fact that the community has supported us through 5 fund raisers this year sure makes me wish I could alienate my community like you have yours.

You could attempt to post again under a new screen name; but I doubt that will work. People have tried that (right, Larry and cdveo?), but it never works. As it is, you will never earn any respect from anyone here, posting as you do. You've made some outrageous statements, and some you should really apologize for. I gave you this advise before, and you turned it down. Now, you are nothing but intellectual cannon fodder. What you call a fight, I call digging a deeper hole and having the dirt piled back in around you. In a time when many women are struggling to prove themselves in our time-honored profession, you are doing them all a disservice with your rhetoric. Rank is something anyone can wear; respect is something that is earned. I don't know what the deal is with your department, or why it is not recognized by the Yavapai County as a fire department. I do not really care, now, why you can't get funding. Although I have not resorted to the actions of some on this forum, I do see their point. If you handle your day-to-day operations with the same tact you've shown here, it's no wonder your department is in trouble. I say all this only because I think this forum is a very good place to learn. The points and info I've discovered here have been invaluable. For instance, the information I received on the "Fire Act Grants" forum were VERY instrumental when I wrote our successful narrative for a new Ferrara aerial platform truck, for one thing. There have been times that I have been very upset at things posted here, especially concerning my personal beliefs. But I approached it with civility, and never lashed out against anyone. Sure, we all fight and disagree. But, there's a difference: we all respect each other as brothers and sisters, first. That's something you blew from the start. You may not care if you ever earn the respect of the members here, and it is most likely too late, anyway. It's time to move on, Donna; one way, or the other.

Amen, the interesting thing about trying to prove your point is to be able to discuss your views in a calm rational mannner. Yelling, screaming, and calling other people names is an old tactic used by someone desperate. Many times you have been asked to simply explain a few key statements that you posted. Nobody has tried to berate you, we have only tried to understand where you are comming from with some of your statements. But instaed of presenting yourself in a professional manner you chose to take a preschool attitude and yell and pout. Seriously, what are bold letters going to do to help your cause? I don't think anyone seriously believes you are a bad person, but perhaps if you acted like a leader and carried on in an intelegent discussion none of this would have gotten so far out of hand. IE-15 pages

Let's see, first it was name calling of your citizens, then name calling of the forum posters, then obscenities addressed at your citizens and other forum posters, and then threats. Now you type large and bold as if yelling. All behavior I would expect on the playground of almost any elementary school in the US where children are still trying to learn coping and social interaction skills. But not behavior expected or tolerated from a fire chief, perhaps that behavior is tolerated if you are an owner of a private company but not a fire chief.

You can type the words jealousy as largely and with as many y's as you desire until you melt your computer into molten plastic in your lap, it still does not change the fact that it is wrong. No one is jealous of you...it is really that simple. Your yelling that reminds me of my youngest sister when she was about 2 or 3, if she didn't agree or didn't get her way she would plug her ears and yell her point of view at the top of her lungs. It was generally met with people walking away and ignoring her until she learned at about that same age that that tactic didn't work.

Every time you post the hole gets deeper and your foot goes farther down your own throat.

If you want to be respected as a fire chief, act like one, not the spoiled child you have presented here. The title alone does not make you a fire chief, particularly when you had to form your own company to get the title, respect of your peers, respect of your firefighters, respect of your community are what make you a true fire chief. Otherwise it is a meaningless title with a shiny white helmet.

I am fully prepared to receive another complete round of oversized bold typed jealousy because it appears that is the only argument you have left when faced with unsurmountable facts that refute all of your nonsensical statements.

I applaud you for being more tolerant, but as you can see, everyone has a limit to their tolerance level.

Donna has asked for help, then refused it.

Donna has torched every bridge she has crossed.

Donna has resorted to grade school head games in response to anyone who she feels has "harassed" her.

I certainly hope that the "mutual aid chiefs" that she has claimed to be helping her have been reading these threads to find out what she is really about.
