Hey, cap, my daughter gets to Applebee's once in a while with her new flame. Maybe they'll see each other - what's her first name and I'll tell Laura to look for her.
I know the feeling about getting used to the empty house and having them come back home. You're not the only one with that situation. I remember something about you saying you were wondering how long the Centralia thing was going to last. Guess that means you won't be coming down here to visit, huh?

Her name is Renee. She is going to stay down long enough to make a car payment before she heads back up. The way Renee manages her money, it could be spring No Jack, the Centralia thing didn't last, thank God. Her ex threatened her with abuse. At least she got smart and got the hell out of there.
Who knows, maybe DuBouis and E/PC(Lanark and Pearl City)will meet in the 3A football finals. I haven't had a chance to see many games, but if they did meet, I'd be up for a road trip.

No road trip for football. Our school, Nashville, got beat by Herrin Saturday. Season's over for us.
Renee and Laura sound so much alike. Maybe they'll meet, or maybe I might have to take my better half out for supper some night.

Renee called tonite and said she's coming home this Tuesday and she's not working tomorrow. So much for that idea too.

Jack, I should change the name of this thread to the saga of a blond daughter. She left Marion at 9 this morning. Now she has decided she will go back to SIU in January and get an apartment in Marion, so she will be back down through your way.

How did you do that, Jay?
No Q, no air horns - we're an all electronic outfit, you see. The crosslays are something they "threw in" at no extra charge. I hate loading (and unloading) the high crosslays on our other truck. This should be real nice. It was originally bid with the standard crosslays up top. Notice the SNOW on the ground? Hope its all gone by Sunday.

Am I seeing things or did Jay just have triplets?
Jack; you showed your truck's best side...
'Cause from the side, it looks like a FREIGHTLINER!
MIKEY; you're spending too much time in Loozyanna!
It's deer season; how can it be boring driving through Illinois?
Nice lookin' rig, Jack. Looks like it was well-planned.
Still working on getting the Illinois grant monies released.

Jack, nice truck. Stop by Pearl City on your way back with it. I'd like to see what a new truck looks like in our station. That'll be the ONLY chance to see a new one here.
Mikey, I've made the I-57 round trip twice since Aug 1st. Now my blond daughter decides to go back to SIU in January, so I get to do it again

    Mike:
I am a firm believer in the community college approach. Cheaper tuition and a much shorter commute. AND you support your local economy. You can live with mom and pop while you learn. No wild parties. An atmosphere conducive to learning. Wait; did you say she is going back to SIU? Oh; totally opposite thoughts on that.
    Nevermind.

SIU - my alma mater. I commutted for 2 years to the Vocational Technical Institute. My wife lived down there. If not for SIU, I may still be single. My daughter went there for 2 or 2 1/2 years, totally a waste of time, My son went there for a year before he decided he really didn't want to do that anymore. He did get his FFII at a JC. Sure spent a lot of money on SIU that didn't help at all. Encouraging, huh Cap?

My alma mater too. My wife's too. Actually lived in Marion for a year or so after graduating and we loved it down there. Decided to move back home to be closer to family after my son was born. Has anybody noticed the SIU football team? I believe they are 9-0 and ranked #3 in the country in 1AA or so I've heard. They would probably beat U of I! Wait, U of I couldn't beat a Pop Warner team! Sorry about that. Couldn't help myself. After all of the years of getting ridiculed by my U of I buds I had to take a shot while I had the chance!

Nice truck Jack. I bet you guys are excited!
