Good evening
I went through my hazmat operations class about a year ago in new jersey. Its an 8 hour class that we did part classroom and then we spent 2 days setting up decon and running through decon. my question is is are we now certified to setup and assist and run decon?
anybody in new jersey know where i can find some hard things stating that?
thanks

Not knowing your states regs..but according to OSHA, you are now qualified to setup and operate on the decon line.

Operations level training is adequate for operating a decon line. However, I remember hearing in my NJ Technician course that a supervisor of a the decon line must be a technician.

I am surprised to hear that the NJ operations class is only 8 hours.
Here in IL, operations personnel may do decon, but the operations certification requires a 45 hour class. This is on top of the 8 hour awareness level certification."We shouldn't be opening firehouses in Baghdad and closing them in New York City."
