Age Challenge

I am looking for information that will help me challange the age restriction for apply for a career firefighter position.

I have heard the this was recently challanged in New York and the canadate won.

I guess it will depend on (1) what your age is, (2) what department you wish to apply to, and (3) what age restriction that department has. In my dept there is no age limit for entry, but you would have to complete a rigorous training academy, assuming that you passed all the requirements for the position and were offered a position. We recently made an offer to a 52 y/o (previous experience as F.F.) but he declined the offer.I guess the thought of 19 weeks in the academy was not to his taste, who knows.
