    Default 10,18 & 5 rule

    I was reading a magazine article and it mentioned the 10 , 18,& 5 rule having to do with air bag deployment what exactley does this mean?

    We go with 5,10,20 as they are easier numbers to remember. They deal with inches to stay away from an airbag to help keep you safer. 5inches from a side impact bag, 10inches from a steering wheel bag, 20inches from a passenger dashboard bag. The bags "should" open in less distance than the 5,10,20.
