And away we go......SNOW!
We received a blast of lake effect snow yesterday, enough to lightly coat the cars and anything else left outside for an extended period of time. Made the roads slick and as a result, a rash of fender benders. Wasn't it just 70 degrees here last week? Maybe the WOT are sending us a message........

The last 2 mornings I had a low of 11 and 12. I think that qualifies for the change to wintertime in the flatland.
Oh, and thanks guys for running up our count

Funny thing about drain valves; you got to remember to close them!
Been sunny here, but colder than a well digger's arse.
I am thinking about staying inside for the entire winter.
Guess I'd better get my Christmas shopping done before I go into winter exile.

Jay;
Please see bold print in my previous post.
Could we possibly see you hit 1000 sometime today or are you going to add to the suspense?

Art, I am dismayed to find less and less to comment on in these forums.
I noticed in one thread, The WatchDesk has been off-line lately. And it shows.
And so there is less and less to post on. And I am dismayed.
I have decided that this will be my last new post. I'll never reach 1,000. If I have anything else to say, I'm just going to go back and edit one of the other 996 of them.
Ah, retirement.

edit #1:
I've decided to use this post as my holding tank. I'll post new thoughts and ideas here. By calling it a "holding tank," it kinda makes sense, don't cha think? I wonder who I can get to pump it out. Somebody with a catchy phrase on the side of his truck, like: "Number 1 in the number 2 business!" or "Your **** is my bread and butter!"
As you can see, however, I couldn't quite resist some of the idiots and posted two more times. I will try to have a little more self-control.
------------------
edit #2:
CR, I just can't do it. I've reached the end. I just don't have the intestinal fortitude to carry on.
---------------------
edit #3:
CR, I'm still here. I am tickled to see RFD is getting a grant. I was thinking we might try that next year if we get our new station built.
Why would you pack up and go to Ohio? Are you going to abandon us?!?!Last edited by jaybird210; 11-13-2003 at 02:28 PM.

Jay:
I can't believe that you are willing to forego the wonderful benefits that come from joining the 1000 post club.
Think of all of the luminaries you would join when you go over 1000.
You deserve it, Jay. You and I have been there side by side, back to back on many of today's important issues. We have fought the uneducated back to respectability.
Don't do it for you. Do it for the kids out there.

Ah, sweet Jenn:
I can almost remember my 600th post like it was yesterday.
No; it was my 1600th post that was like yesterday.
Well; I remember yesterday. It was Monday, I think.
I went to work, but the rest is a blur.
What was the question?
Oh yeah; congratulations on your 600th post.
At least, I have someone in this thread to talk to. And it isn't long distance!

ART,
I never knew you enjoyed my "presence" here quite so much. I MUST be sure to make an appearance more often "just" for you. Well, that and I guess someone needs to start keeping an eye on you as your memory seems to be giving you issue

Must only be cold in Northern IL. Just got back from a couple days in South Dakota. Yesterday AM it was 36, today it was 30. they had a little snow in piles here and there. Not that bad. It's about 65 here now, at 9 at night..Drove the new truck back. Ah, pictures didn't do it justice.

Josh:
Congratulations on the grant. That's great news.
You know; I decided last night while sitting in front of the computer and pondering Life's important questions that, if Jay doesn't get in here and start posting again, I am going to pick up and go to OHIO.
What do you say, Josh? You with me?
