Default Firefighter family accountability & shelter

Carmel Fire Dept. is researching a policy/procedure to notify the family of an on-duty firefighter in case of a terrorist attack or natural disaster. For example checking on the well being of the family, and notifying the family of the firefighter's condition. This may also include providing shelter and support for families in certain situations. If you have any policies in place or ideas please contact us.

The only thing we have that is close to that is our annual LODD paperwork. This confidential sealed envelope would only be opened in the event of an LODD and lists beneficiaries, members that you would like to personally notify your family, and whether you want an FD funeral, among other things.
