Should I get my red card?

I’m working on my schedule for next semester and have a few open time slots. I was thinking about taking a class on wild land firefighting. As of now, I am planning on becoming a structural FF. I will probably work in a small to midsized city. Is there any reason why I should or should not work on getting my red card?

It never hurts to get your red card. You never know when you will get the chance to go on a wildland fire. I know here you have to have your red card to be on a project or federal fire.
