    Default Jr. Firefighters

In alabama child labor laws it states: "Prohibited occupations and places of employment for miors under age 18." Also," As firefighters. Inlcudes paid or volunteer work fighting fire."
What my question is that if your not fighting the fire would that be legal? Such as gopher work, learning thhe ropes, etc. without fighting the fire?
I would really like to try and start a program for my volly dept., but i read that and wondered if i could without it being illegal.

varies state-by-state. i think they mean that anyone under 18 can't enter a burning structure to do fire supression. They don't mention anything about misc fireground work. i believe it to be this way.

Smile you can in our state

ist a little differant here if your 17 you can be a certifide firefighter-1 by the state or city i think it is city but you still have to do the fireighter training but you can go into burning buildings and that kind of stuff. but thats our state.
