Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, 'It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than to be selfish and worry about my liver.'

You see there, Sammy, the wildland firefighter term "smoke jumper" doesn't actually refer to jumping out of airplanes. It's actually a reference to an early evacuation technique utilized by the Amapahoat tribe of western Wyoming for when they were attempting to flush buffalo out of brushy thickets by setting them on fire. The young braves would rub two pieces of mesquite wood together until they achieve a flame, and then light the thicket...

Maybe it's because of all those years playing D&D as a teen instead of dating. Maybe it's because while other boys were checking out their fathers Playboy I was drooling over ElfQuest comics. Maybe it was becasue of the recent popularity of the Lord of the Ring movies. Whatever the reason, when I saw Firechixrock's kitchen picture the first thing that poped into my head was, "Wow, if she had long pointy ears and a longbow she'd be the HOTTEST tree elf in the forest."
