It's a Cairns 1010, its alright but I wish it was leather.
I just pretend that its a leather helmet. Itll work until i
can afford one. Having a lil one now makes it a lil hard on the
budget. But she's definitely worth it.

Uh oh. How come you don't match everyone else? How come you are not as dressed up as them? Only one reason I can think of. A certain ending of a certain song comes to mind.

Well, she was just one of the FOUR(4) girls I went with, so instead of matching one, and offending the other three, making them think I was playing favourites, I just dressed "casual" I had a clip-on-tie, but it was lost during the "bump and grind" of the dance floor

Haven't added one here for a while and still dunno how to but you can have a link....

BTW although that is my own car...I'm not one of those POV nuts that everyone seems to get mad about on here. Once promoted to the senior ranks an Officer has to either use his or her own car (which the FD pay a usage & mileage allowance) or take a lease car!!

I love my 2003 Saab 9-3 and wasn't gonna get no lease car so they can tax the hell out of me!!!

Steve: what is the reimbursement rate for using your POV?

I am surprised that the LFB does not issue staff cars for their command staff.

    Gonz,
The flat payment is 97 per month plus 38p per mile. This works out at about 400 ($760) per month extra in my wages. A nice profit if i had a regualr car, being a bit of a 'petrolhead' i went for an upmarket car, but the money still allows me to pay for it, insure it, service it and fill it up within the budget!!!

The LFB do have staff cars, they are for Officers on Developemnt to ADO (Batt Chief)or Station Officers (Capt's) acting up to cover leave or sickness. Once an Officer is finished his development programme he or she has to give the staff car back. There are only 60 staff cars in London but over 200 Senior Officers.

Here's me in 2003 with a staff car, while still on development.

And here's one showing the St Andrews flag on the back on my helmet. That would be me tending the foam bucket. The red hat behind us is definately one fast guy, ran right out from underneath his helmet when they torched off the lake o'fire before we were bunkered up! I think that caber is over here in Seattle Dave404, pretty sure I saw it at our Highland Games!

I've missed them the last two years, I'll have to make sure to get out to Enumclaw next summer though. It's kinda like a Canadian invasion ya know? Reminds me of when we hosted the Police/Fire Games over in Moscow/Pullman in 87 or 88!
