Ok, ok. What about truck #4? It's a purdy new box and all. It's even a super duty. Nice strobe package, quartz scene lighting.

Too bad the B shift supervisor keeps wrecking it. First he slammed into the side of the bay at the oil change place (someone was directing him out). It smashed the driver's side scene light and scraped some paint off of the box. Then he was pulling out of the supervisor truck bay and ran into the mailman's truck. I guess we're gonna have to ban him from driving. Good thing he's a paramedic...

    "Truck 4" is still a bone box/gut wagon/meat wagon!

It's got forcible-entry tools if that makes you feel any better.

I have to agree...looks like an ambulance...our truck that we use for extication tools looks like a rescue truck....not like an ambulance...LOL....

Sorry if we hurt your ego but this is just an ambulance! A truck company in my neck of the woods is a ladder truck that responds to motor vehicle accidents, people trapped in an elevator, and all kinds of medical aids. More importantly, "The Truck" company comes complete with a ladder and is used at building fires for rescue and ventilation.

I never said it was a truck company. It's Gadsden County EMS truck #1. We have trucks 1-10. Of course it's an ambulance. As far as radio designations/unit ID it's either 2-1 (two one), 2-2, 2-3 or 2-4.

When we say 2-1 everyone knows what we're talking about. Everyone knows it's an ambulance. The truck number is just so we can keep track of them as far as maintenance and so you know which one you're in.

Then shouldn't it be called A-1 or Ambulance 1? I think to most of us, when you say Truck #1 or Truck #4 we traditionally think of a ladder truck, not an ambulance.

I wondered about that, too.... Thought it just might have been the lighting......

Now I'm REALLY disapointed with y'all... Here was a perfect opportunity to jump on the Monday Morning Quarterback bandwagon and start arguing why he is holding the lid instead of wearing it - AND NOBODY SAID ANYTHING!!!

Other food for thought based on his pic:
    - What type of nozzles are on those rigs?
    - Are the lights that are reflecting on the lid (causing the yellow hue) halogen, strobe, or LED? Which one is better?
    - Are the lights from the rigs or responding POVs?
    - Were any of the responders drinking at the firehouse before the call?
    - Looking the upper left hand corner of the pic -- deep in the shadows... is that a trout? (you have to squint and turn your head sideways to think you see it).

    Just keeping it interesting
