Grew up in Hayward and graduated college there. Lived in San Leandro and moved to Oakley (next to Antioch) for awhile. Now in Montana. Wish I could have talked to you before you moved to weed. I don't think anything of much fun goes on there.

    Default My boy...

Here's a pic of my family. My first child, Parker, was just born on 4/18/05 at 10:20. I couldn't be more proud! It's amazing how much you can love someone you just met. Only been a week and I'm already tired, and I have been off work since he has been born! Go back tomarrow though. BOO!

    Here he is,

    Default advice?

I am at the time I am thinking about getting married and have children. When, for a firefighter, is a good time to start a family? Should I wait for a while?

My friend and I have been together for a year now and have talked about this stuff a little and I figure you all being ladies in the fire services, you could offer some priceless advice. Maybe?

No I haven't. Don't start in on this one. I am asking professional advice, advice that could change my future. I am asking the ladies, if you have some good advice, let me know.

You are asking for "professional" relationship advice on a firefighter bulletin board? You will get real advice, some good advice, but not much professional advice on the subject.

My advice, and I bet all here will agree, is to live YOUR life before you tie yourself to the life of another. Chances are that your current relationship won't last through your first semester of college. If it does that is great and is a good test of the relationship, but don't tie yourself down, or her, before you have each had a chance to live and grow as individuals. Otherwise you will soon regret the relationship that stood in the way of your lfe exploration. And always remember that statistically the later in life you get married for the first time the great the chance the marrage has of survival.

After college, and/or at a point where you are comfortable in your choosen career. Make sure that you can stand on your own, financially and emotionally before you take on the responcibilty of a family.
