A scan fom the Havana Herald.

35 acre wildfire in Quincy. It was actually 2 seperate fires about 1/2 mile apart fueled by strong winds. I was riding the sick bus that day and I believe I was reaching for my radio in the picture. We provided evac, rehab, ground-spotting, communications/relays and overwatch as needed.

Quincy FD, Forestry, Leon County SO, Gadsden County SO, Quincy PD, CSX Rail, Mount Pleasant, Midway, Concord, Greensboro, Wetumpka and Roberstville VFDs, Red Cross, Gadsden County Public Works and Gadsden EMS responded in full force to fight the fire.

Don't remind me. My Mom wants me to take some senior pictures this summer. I already was forced into taking some professional pictures on the beach for spring break.

This is a pic of me and my daughter (3rd Grade) taken during career day at her school. She is a chairman for her school's safety committee. She was my escort for the day!

She's not proud of her daddy, now is she?

I had the chance to visit your city last weekend for a whirlwind getaway with the kids and had a blast. We may try to make it back for the fire engine rally later this summer or fall. Any idea when it might be this year?

What places did you get to check out? Did you get to visit an enginehouse?

The Fire Engine Rally, I do believe is the Saturday or Sunday before 9-11. I can look into that.

It used to be in Forest Park years ago, and was awsome. They moved it to downtown, and seems toned down quite a bit. But, I was on-duty and working the Safe House, so I didn't get to check everything out.

Just the Zoo, Science Center and Arch this time. No sports - my girls aren't old enough to sit through a Blues game, though I might take my boys this winter. No firehouse visits this time either - it's a bit much to impose a visiting FF, wife and four little ones (10, 7, 4, 3) on an unsuspecting house!

I was at the firefighter memorial dedication several years ago and have brought my children a few times since. We'll probably try to come again this year.

Mind if I drop you a PM a little closer to travel time?

Anybody want to guess who this could be?
