Here's a little something I found on E-Bay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2442934490
It goes to show you that some people are not the brightest, With the leaves falling this time of year, just think of having some "Mutt" running around your streets trying to impress his honey with one of else hooked up to his car.

I love the line
and installed by morons!Made and sold by a certifed technician...."The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

I like this little blurb:
The mutton-heads who will put something like this in their cars probably don't know what a catalytic converter is!!!MUST NOT HAVE A CATALYTIC CONVERTER...HOLLOWED CAT OR TEST PIPE REQUIRED.

Hmm - I think someone has found a new get rich quick scheme.
Back in the day all you had to do to get this same effect was to run your fuel mix a little rich, stick a spark plug in the exhaust pipe, and wire it to the number 7 & 8 cylinder plugs. Presto.
Guess all this techno computer controlled engine settings crap put an end to that.
*sigh* Long live the vintage Hot Rods when Cars and toolboxes were metal and not plastic.Last edited by N2DFire; 11-20-2003 at 03:45 PM.

Yeah - and if your car is lacking a catalytic converter -- try getting it to pass its emissions test.
Natural selection at it's finest.

I'm pretty sure we could have one of these mounted to all the chief's cars in one productive weekend.
I'd love to watch that when they all left in the morning with a trail of fire behind them. I wonder if I'd be able to see that from the unemployment office!

Oh yeah!! Whoever came up with this is a real rocket surgeon.
We have a car group that had some of these installed on their cars. One time while drag racing in a popular place in the county, it threw flames out his pipe about 4 feet. So long and so far he started the car on fire parked behind him.
Another time, there was a "Shadetree" mechanic that freshly intalled it himself into his car. Nice car. Wanted to test it and set his garage and front yard on fire. He did save his car, however his nice shop and all his tools and equipment were gone.
Looks pretty.
Keep your head down and your powder dry.

Dating ourselves??
N2DFire - are we dating ourselves that we can remember the tailpipe and sparkplug trick?!?!
Yikes.... there's a scary thought... Like you said in your afternote, with today's car, either the computer-controlled system wouldn't allow it, or the back end of the car would melt off in the process.....
I can actually remember trying that on my buddy's 68 Mustang one summer when we were still in HS.... gave their cat a complex and fried a few branches on his Mom's rosebush..(luckily on the side *NOT* visible from the house....
Gotta love youth... I chalk it up to boredom and a too-well-equipped garage.
