    Smile Cyberspace Volunteer

Yup, I consider myself a "cyberspace volunteer." I've found a behind-a-desk sort of way to help people. Since my skills are in the area of computers and the Internet, I can help by donating... (guess what)... Internet forum services.

Currently, I'm donating free use of forum space (vBulletin, of course ) as hepatitis c support forums for public use. The forums are for hepatitis c patients, medical professionals, educators, caregivers, friends, and families. (You can see it here, if interested.) BTW, there are also forums for US Veterans (because lots of military personnel caught hepatitis c from the mass innoculations).

In addition to donating all the costs of the board, I'm volunteering my time as their tech support admin. And, I can't tell you how much of an education this has been for me. I never knew anything about hepatitis c or the military before, except stereotypes.

Oh yes, what brought me here. My husband is currently going through about 36 hours of CERT training (Community Emergency Response Team), run by our local town. And he's learning a bunch there. We have so much appreciation for all our emergency workers.

A BIG THANK YOU, TO ALL OF YOU.

    Debby

Hey, thanks for the warm welcome!

Well, my husband has graduated from his CERT class. And it was odd for me, to have him "on call" on New Year's Eve. No reason for being "on call" that I know of... just "in case of an incident" was what I was told. Well, all was nice and quiet and we had a peaceful evening with a couple of friends.

How was everybody else's New Years Eve? I hope it's a good year, filled with only good things for everyone.
