Our fire district has put in for a pumper/tanker. We have not recieved our Dear John. Does anyone know when the next set of Dear John's will be going out, and what are our chances of getting a grant with only a little while left in the grant. Thanks for the input....

Haven't recieved Dear John, haven't received the 1199a or 7 questions yet. Can anyone update the possibility of getting the grant?

Please hold (onto hope)
Waiting here in purgatory-no signs at all. We applied for SCBA and turnout gear. When the dear johns come out, I sigh and say no news is good news. However, the sands are running out of the hour glass. I hope they still need to contact some of us. Last year we were turned down on the last wave. I thought with more money we would stand a better chance. That just goes to show you we have all raised the bar by doing our homework. Good luck to the rest waiting.

Waiting...
Still waiting too. No Dear John, no 1199a, no questions.
Turned down the last 2 years for a pumper. We had to borrow money instead for this purchase. Reformatted our fire district and the way they are charged. We were able to increase our budget a little in order to pay off a loan for a pumper. Unfortunately it leaves no money for anything else.
Applied for TIC and extrication tools this year. STILL WAITING!
Good luck to all.
STAY SAFE!!

I mean last year we made it only like into the tenth round and they called the county administartor and told us that we didn't get the damn thing. Oh well i guss we can just cross our fingers and toes, grin and bear it and just WAIT!!!

your not the only one holding your breath !!
We are also holding our breath... and starting to worry..
I got the 1199 link on the website back on 9/20.. sent it back via email, fax, and snail mail the same day..
Got the ack on the website on 9/30 and to my personal email account on 10/6.
Got the 14 questions on 10/17 and sent them back on 10/19. Received an ack on 10/21 and since then... NOTHING !!!
called last month and was simply told " it is being evaluated " what ever that means...
from what I have read on these postings.. I am beginning to believe that we are the only department that made it through all the steps and are not getting the grant..
ps.. I had 14 questions because we asked for a fire/smoke detector system for the building and it is a landmarked building..
STILL HOLDING MY BREATH....

Answer from FEMA
I send an e-mail to FEMA to ask about DJ's earlier this week.
Here is the answer they sent me:
FEMA is still in the process of reviewing applications. The first and
second round of rejection notifications have been sent out. Whether you
were or awarded or not, you will recieve an email regarding your status.
Please make sure that your email address in our system is correct.
Sincerely,
Pinky Sheets

Well, I supposed if my name was "Ethilind", I might go for "Pinky" too.
