TAMPA - A townhouse in the gated Harbour Island neighborhood caught fire Saturday, and a firefighter was injured putting out the blaze, which caused an estimated $100,000 worth of damage.

Tampa Fire Rescue spokesman Bill Wade said the fire department was called about 1:30 p.m. Saturday to a house fire at 1113 Shipwatch Circle, where smoke and flame was coming from the roof of a two-story townhouse.

Firefighters put out the blaze in about a half-hour, but while dousing flames in the attic, Rick Brown, 28, a three-year veteran with the department, was pinned by a collapsing roof. He was treated and released at a medical clinic after suffering minor burns on his ears and face, Wade said.
