You don't use LUCK to get through, you use BRAINS.

Cool beans, Dan! Good luck to you. Remember to study hard, this isn't like one of those laim arse classes back in HS that teaches you something you will never use again.... trust me, you'll use it, so learn it well. Take each test like your trying to do better than everyone in the class... can't go wrong like that. When you get out of the academy, and go to your station, and someone shows you something you already know, keep your lips shut and let em tell you anyway.

Be early to class every day... instructors don't like excuses.

Congratulations! The best advice I can give you is to pay attention to your officer and senior guys. They have the experience and can teach you a lot. Second, keep your eyes and ears open and learn as much as you can.

    Cool Wow............................................... .

Nice touch with the scheduling.......... First week on the job, you get a Holiday. Merry Christmas. As an Instructor, several things you should do/not do:

Be prompt. 15 minutes early is cool. 1 minute late isn't.
Always go in with your best appearance each morning. "Clean Dirt" is OK with us. (Uniforms that have been worn hard, but are freshly laundered each day.)
Someone covered the "Listen, don't talk" thing already. Believe it, BUT, don't be afraid to ask for guidance. There is no such thing as a "Stupid Question" (I have heard some strange ones though).
Never, Ever, do anything that gets someone hurt. To borrow from an Auto maker's advertising, "Safety is Job One!

    Default Thanks

Thanks everyone for the advice, I am more than ready but at the same time I am nervous about not knowing what to expect. I know I just have to keep my cool, settle down and learn. Once again thanks!!
