anyone have helitack experience with the FS or BLM?

I am currently a "city" firemen in a small mid-west town. prior to this year i was a seasonal with CDF for one and a half seasons. i am considering returing to the wildland side next year and wanted some info on helitack postions in the "West" with either blm or forest service. What is the average seasonal earnings at the gs-4 level for a helitack firefighter? Are there any specific courses i should take? I would appreciate any tips or info anyone might have.

USAJobs already has a lot of postings for helitack. They list the pay scale for each grade.
If you have not already taken it there is a 200 level avialtion class that most helitack positions require.
What area are you wanting to go?
