    ***** Congers, NY LODD *****

Over the weekend, December 13/14, 2003, Congers, NY Fire Fighter George WOHL, dies in the Line-of-Duty.

Brother George was doing outside repairs on his home when he received a fire alert. ‚ÄúThe fire alert came in and he began to climb down the ladder outside his house, but he slipped and fell.‚ÄĚ

Firefighter Wohl was a 34-year veteran of the C.F.D., as well as a lifetime member. His two sons, John and George III, are also volunteers for the C.F.D. and his wife Catherine is active in the Ladies' Auxiliary. His father was also a volunteer and his brother Chris Wohl is a Congers fire commissioner.

According to the fire department's press release, the 2:54 p.m. alarm that Wohl was responding to was false, from an apparent alarm malfunction.

Wohl was also an electrician with Local 363, an amateur local historian, the fire department historian, and a railroad buff.

The funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church in Congers. The burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery in Rockland Lake. A firematic service is scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday at McGowan Funeral Home.

    *Funeral Details/Directions-FDNY FF Brick*

Here are the details for the visitation and funeral service for FDNY Firefighter Thomas Brick.

Visitation: Tomorrow & Friday 2pm-5pm & 7pm-10pm at The Harden Funeral Home which is located at 208-17 Northern Blvd, Bayside, Queens.

The Funeral is on Saturday, 11am at Saint Kevin's Church 45-21 194th St. in Flushing, Queens.

Note that the Funeral Home is located off the Clearview Expressway, in Bayside, NYC, in the Borough of Queens. Take the Clearview Expressway and get off on Northern Blvd, Exit 5, head East on Northern, and the Funeral Home will be located a few blocks on the left.

St. Kevins Church is not far from the Funeral Home, just west of there, in Flushing. To get to Saint Kevins, take the Clearview Expressway to Northern Blvd, but head West on Northern. Travel west down Northern Blvd to 194th Street, and make a left onto 194th Street, and go to 45th Ave. Saint Kevins Church is at 194th Street and 45th Avenue. Travel between the two should be 10-15 minutes.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Thomas Elasser Fund. WHAT IS the The Thomas R. Elasser Fund? It was established in 1992 to support the families of NYC Firefighters who died Non-Line of Duty as active members of the FDNY. With your help the FDNY UFA can support the many families that do not have access to the more lucrative financial benefit packages that the families of members who have made the Supreme Sacrifice do. The funds are used to help with medical costs, housing and repairs and school tuition's to name a few. Sadly and horribly, this firefighter was killed... but this time of year makes it even more bitter and difficult to all. On the other hand, we all usually have a few extra bucks this time of year... this is a good way to do what the family has asked and HONOR his memory to do some good this holiday season. We offer pager coverage from Bangor, Maine to Washington DC as well as Nationwide coverage. We are resellers for Weblink Wireless, Aquis Communications, and NEP/UCOM Paging. Incident coverage includes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont.

We page Working Fires and greater, Motor Vehicle Accidents using Jaws, MCI, or Medflight Helicopter. Police Incidents such as Shootings, stabbings, car chases, etc. and Major NEWS incidents.

We have a National Group for multiple alarms that we get from our affiliates across the country.

We have several groups to choose from and all groups have the option to be turned off. We also use a state of the art FLEX system which allows us to page 240 characters.

A feature for those outside our pager service area allows us to page our incidents to your personal alphanumeric pager or to your digital cell phone or any E-mail enabled wireless device.

For existing Fire Paging groups we have the TAC9 USA Computer for multiple alarm fires. A Fire Paging group sends one page to this computer, either by SNPP, WCTP, SMTP (E-mail), or TAP (dial up) and the system sends that multiple alarm fire to all your reciprocal groups. That simple !

Call us for details or check us out on the web.

Thank You for your interest in TAC9 PAGING
