Default Brother FF sick; needs prayers

    Friends:

I am posting today, on Christmas, with an urgent request. FF Johnny Vanhoose of W.R. Castle Fire & Rescue in Wittensville, KY is facing surgery tomorrow to investigate an intestinal blockage. The doctors fear it could be cancer. Johnny first landed in the hospital Saturday after suffering severe abdominal pain while pulling a crosslay at a structure fire.

Johnny needs your prayers. Please think of him in the next few days. I will post more when I hear it.

    Thanks.

Almighty God our heavenly Father, graciously comfort your servant John Vanhoose in his suffering, and bless the means made use of for his cure. Fill his heart with confidence that, though at times he may be afraid, he yet may put his trust in you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Johnny underwent surgery to remove the mass on Friday. He spent 5 1/2 hours in OR to remove a fist-sized tumor from his colon and gall bladder. The doctors are waiting to hear back from the labs but are "99% sure" the mass was cancerous. After Johnny gets over his surgery, he will probably start on chemo and radiation.

Please continue to think of him and pray for him, and many thanks to those who have posted their wishes and prayers here. I know he feels the power of that support.

    Default GREAT NEWS!!!!

The lab work has revealed that Johnny's growth was benign, apparently due to diverticulitis. No more popcorn or peanuts, but other than that, he's OKAY!!!! He may even be able to have the colostomy reversed in about three months. He may go home tomorrow!!

Thanks to all for your prayers and kind words. I will try to pass them on to Johnny. IT WORKED!!!

    From an Atheist-
Sounds to me like the doctors did most of the work.
    Get well soon, Johnny.
