*** REPORT FROM THE LINE OF FIRE ***

    AUSTRALIA
DUBBO RURAL FIRE DISTRICT - 10:00am update

Firefighters continue to work tirelessly to contain a fire located 30km northeast of Dubbo in the Goonoo State Forest.

The fire has spread across an area totalling about 1500ha. Yesterday afternoon under windy conditions the fire spotted into private property near the small community of Ballimore.

Ballimore local landholders are this morning working with fire crews to prepare their properties, though no properties are threatened at this stage.

Five fixed wing aircraft and three helicopters are currently carrying out waterbombing operations to support mopping up efforts and contain spot fires.

Overnight more than 200 firefighters from across the state worked on containment lines. Significant backburning was completed on the eastern edge of the fire, though the south west edge of the fire could cause concern later this afternoon.

Eight strike teams from around NSW arrived in Dubbo overnight, bringing the total number of firefighters to over 350.

Yesterday waterbombing aircraft made significant impact on the fire as it moved out of the scrub and into grassland.

Weather conditions are expected to worsen this afternoon with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees and winds gusting to 50 knots.
