I am trying to compile some dispatch audio recordings of incidents to use in a communications class for recruits. Does anyone know where I can find some online? I have found some through Firehouse but I would like to get more.
Thanks!![]()

Talk to your dispatch center they may be able to make some tapes for you if you explain why you would like them. We use tapes occasionally for critique issues. Our dispatch does not have a problem for stuff like that. I have also gotten them for awards presentations that I have given.
Good luck

In my opinion, it'd probably be best to get your own dispatch center to make some tapes for you. If you're training people on radio procedures, you can do no better than training them the way they're actually going to do things, and radio procedures are one of the things that fluctuates from department to department. For example, my city uses no ten-codes, and calls pumpers Pump, Engine, or Squad; rescue units Emergencies; and ladder trucks Aerials. That's one thing that might seem small, but how many departments have you heard about that call their rescue trucks squads?
Anyway - give your dispatch center a call and see if they can help you out.

That is the first thing we did...
The other recordings are for how other systems work and how NOT to talk on the radio.
Granted we have got this on our system as well, but we wanted more examples. Plus we talk 10 code and are talking of switching to plain talk. This is another reason.Always remember the CHARLESTON 9
