    Default 36 hour curriculum

    Hello,

I am the Captain of the Concord Township Fire Explorers. I am considering following 36-hour curriculum for our bi-weekly training. I feel that this will give the explorers a good foundation when tjhey enter 240 school. (I am in 240 now, and people that have 36 have a nice advantage) I am looking for a breakdown of 36 hour curriculum, and any comment on posts tht have tried this.

    Thanks,

    Ben

Contact the State Fire Academy or a local school that teaches 36hr course. I would tell you but it was revised recently and I don't know what the curent form is.

7134 - last time I checked fire behavior with live fire was a no no in the 36 hour class. I graduated from a class 2 years ago, it may have changed since then.

Start with chapter one, and touch lightly on basic skills. As my deputy chief says, "it gives them just enough to get them killed."

I suggest follwoing up once they complete the class with some saving your own or saving yourself.

Ben, If you need more information you can contact Chief Strubbe from our department, he is the County's Fire Instruction Cordinator.
