This is off the thread topic but is it true that in Hamilton the Captains got submarined in the new contract? Something about senior firefighters getting 109% while captains still get 115% instead of applicable retention or senoritiy money?

Chriso, I know you are looking at Ontario for your future home but there is a great opportunity right now with the Calgary fire department in Alberta. They are taking applications on a continuous basis. When enough acceptable applicants are gathered they run a class through. There are alot of retirements happening in the next few years so there will be hudreds of firefighters hired. You can check out the department at http://www.calgaryfire.ca .
FYI Clagary is a little over a one hour drive to some of the best skiing in the world. If you don't like skiing, you will!

Not me, I'm off today. I am going out to a bar-b-q at a friends house.
I just finished shovelling the first 4 inches of snow off my driveway and it's still coming down.

Manofire, you dont have "all Newfoundland' living up there, you don't have me or any of the half million others still living down here. However I do know lots of newfies who have moved "up along"We are glad to have all of the Maritimes and Newfoundland living here but we draw the line when it comes to "Upper Canadians".Last edited by Smoke20286; 01-25-2004 at 07:07 PM.
