Oh, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. How convenient that you can infringe on other's freedoms, simply because your johnny-come-lately belief system deems it immoral. Humanism is NOT a religion. Go ahead; look it up. Try something besides stupid straw-man tactics. It's all about freedom and equality. Your gay-bashing is stupid, and alludes to your intelligence. When someone here explains why African-Americans shouldn't sit in the front of a bus or be reduced to half-human status, then maybe I'll understand why gay and lesbians shouldn't be afforded the same rights as the rest of the nation. As for guns, they should be controlled; just like everything else in this nation is regulated.Yea, the Democrats want to force their IMMORALITY and Secular Humanism (also a religion)on the entire country. THATS what I call scary!!!
Big deal; he did nothing more than thousands of mere humans that hit the beaches in Normandy. It's all unfounded fable, anyway. But, I respect your right to chose the barbaric blood cult of your choice.Christains ARE NOT perfect... just FORGIVEN! Go and see Mel Gibsons " The Passion of Christ " and see what Jesus did for you and me!!!

Whats even more scary is the Right to Free Speech only applies if you are a left leaning type. If you are a Conservative or a Moderate and you speak freely, they will call the ACLU and make sure you are shut up quickly. Such a Double Standard.
Off topic but, did anyone hear about the ACLU suing the Federal Government and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Administration for the right to hang "Pro-Marijuana" ads in Public Service Announcement slots on Subway cars?
Example of one of the supposed "PSA's" is: Want to have Great Sex? Smoke Marijuana"
Personally, Marijuana does not serve the public and WMATA (A Taxpayer funded agency) was right to take them down. What I can't believe is these idiots at the ACLU actually thinking they have a case. What if the KKK or Aryan Brotherhood wanted to put PSA's up in Subway cars? Would the ACLU be there to defend them? Nope, the ACLU is a dealer of immorality and an escape into lawlessness.
Message to the aging hippies at the ACLU: POT IS ILLEGAL! YOU CANNOT ADVERTISE AN ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE IN A PUBLIC SPACE PAID FOR BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT~ WOODSTOCK IS OVER AND THE ARE NOT GOING TO LEGALIZE POT!
What a bunch of Morons.

Actually, the ACLU did go to court to defend the right of the American Nazi Party to stage a march in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in Skokie, Illinois.
I want to thank them, for it inspired one of the great scenes in The Blues brothers!"The education of a firefighter and the continued education of a firefighter is what makes "real" firefighters. Continuous skill development is the core of progressive firefighting. We learn by doing and doing it again and again, both on the training ground and the fireground."

And............
more recently the ACLU took sides with Rush Limbaugh regarding the privacy of his medical records.

I think you need to re-read the bibleOriginally posted by DaSharkie
As for Christians being forgiven, I think you should re-read the Bible, Jesus Christ died for everyone, forgives everyone, chirstians, atheists, Jews,, Muslims, etc...,
Everyone, regardless of current belief is offered forgiveness, but you are not forgiven unless you ask for it, and believe in it. At which point, you are a Christian.

Bones, you just asked the million dollar question! And the answer is? We don't have one! It's just the PC thing to do. I have ancestry in County Cork in Ireland, but do I call my self an Irish-American? NO!
You know there was a White Kid, born in Johannesburg South Africa that was denied entry into the "Outstanding African-American Student Award" Contest at a High School in California! Why? Because he was WHITE! This kid is more African-American than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton combined, but he was denied the award. Why not just call it the "Outstanding black Student Award?"
Gonzo, Duff...both of you presented very good examples of the fact that the ACLU supports immorality, indeceny and bigotry in this country. Yes people, Rush Limbaugh was wrong in his actions. He admitted that and he deserves whatever punishment is given to him. The Illinois Nazi Party was wrong as well. Discrimination in any form is WRONG.
Everyone wants to call themselves some special label name in order to garner some type of special treatment. No group deserves any special treatment. Equality of man is the best way, no Affirmative Action, No special scholarships none of it. If you want something, you earn it the old fashoined way.
On a sidenote (Back to Kerry,) it seems the IAFF basically supports Kerry because he is willing to push the IAFF Special Interest Agenda. Would the IAFF Support a buffoon like Al Sharpton or Dennis Kucinich or some other Socialist if he were willing to push the IAFF Agenda?
Is the IAFF agenda more important to the IAFF than National Security or Immigration Reform or Tax Cuts? If we have no nation left because of John Kerry's bad National Defense voting record, where will the IAFF and it's members work to benefit from that agenda? The agenda of an organization that represents your career should not be more important than the agenda of you personally to have a safe affordable place to care for your family.
I can guarantee you one thing, if Kerry wins and we get attacked again, the IAFF ain't gonna help you, a Strong National defense will. And this goes for all special interest groups looking to push an agenda with John Kerry.
PS: the examples I used of the KKK and Aryan Brotherhood were bad ones to use. I forgot the ACLU defended the Nazi Party and the right of the KKK to hold a rally in the past. I should have used Pro-life or Pro-religion groups. My apologies.Last edited by TillerMan25; 02-19-2004 at 01:05 PM.

I don't call them African-American, or "blacks" or "negroes" or anything like that. I call them people."We shouldn't be opening firehouses in Baghdad and closing them in New York City."

I am with you Duff, but unfortunately, there are some people out there who look at it differently. If you are in a group of black people and say black instead of African American, then you are scolded. You live here? Are you a citizen of the United States of America? Then where you were born or where your lineage is based means absolutely nothing.I don't call them African-American, or "blacks" or "negroes" or anything like that. I call them people.
As for "The Blues Brothers" here's a story for you....
When I took driver's ed in high school, my teacher brought in a tape of "The Blues Brothers", we watched it with instructions to write down every motor vehicle violation we saw. Took up a few sheets of paper."Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like." Will Rogers
The borrower is slave to the lender. Proverbs 22:7 - Debt free since 10/5/2009.
"No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session." - New York Judge Gideon Tucker
"As Americans we must always remember that we all have a common enemy, an enemy that is dangerous, powerful and relentless. I refer, of course, to the federal government." - Dave Barry
