East Coast, West Coast, what about the midwest

It seems like the west and east are battling daily over stuff. What about the midwest, are we just in the middle. I havent had that much time with firefighting in ks. Midwest FF's, Is it a mix of east and west or is it more toward one side? Just a question, I saw a maltease cross today in a catalog that said "Midwest firefighter" I thought it was about time.

Well in South Dakota we are on the border of East vs West in some cases. East of the Missouri River they use tankers. West of the Missouri River we use tenders. Here in the west, tankers are aircraft, tenders haul water.

I was in an NFA field calss last year. The instructor was from Kansas City (tanker). We were divided into groups to solve different situations. One group that was mostly west river got the "tanker hits a car in an intersection". We were supposed to come up with what would be required for the investigation, etc.

The group's first comment was that "The tanker was flying too damn low if it hit a car" The instructor made a note of that for future reference.

The Chair recognizes that the gentleman from Connecticut has a point, but the bag is covering it. I agree that the Northeast/Downeast is not interested in being lumped with the Mid-Atlantic and points South. After all, the language is, well, different. In the Mid-Atlantic we do not send Towah Laddahs to Cah Fiahs, nor do we eat much Lobstah. Been known to sample Lynchburg Tennessee's, finest spring water though.
