Your written test

You might find some gallon calculations, some basic structural kind of questions, and suppression concepts. What I often found were scenarios that each had questions about what should be done first. In New Hampshire, the test for eligibility has very little to do with knowledge of firefighting but more about thought process. If you read the books (I found the Essentials of Firefighting a pretty good read), you'll get some great information. That's the one our NH Fire Academy uses in their classes. Good luck!

Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong
