    Talking 3/4 Boots ?

After reading a thread below I was wondering... Can you still buy new/used 3/4 boots ? Was thinking that these mightb e nice for hydrant testing and hose testing instead of getting station shoes wet all day. Anyone have any ideas who carries them ?

Yes they are still available brand new.

Although I believe Chicago and under certain conditions Boston are the only big city departments that use them, there are several depts. in my area that allow them to be used for front line duty.

I have a couple pair, and yes they are great for hose testing, hydrant testing, and digging out hydrants in the snow (if you are unfortunate enough to live in an area where that happens!)

Servus fire boots still makes them, as Im sure a slew of others.

They are available through Darley Firefighting Equipment.

You can call for a free catalog at 1-800-323-0244.

Or goto the web site www.edarley.com

Love them. I have a pair in the car and wear them in good weather. I use them while operating the command board or in the back ground. When the weather gets cold or nasty I always have my turnout pants on to keep dry and warm.

They still can be bought at all fire equipment dealers.

yes you can still get them brand new. I wear them at night in the summer, and when the temp is above 40 in the winter. Great pair of boots.

    Default APPLES & ORANGES?

Are we talking about the same things here? The 3/4 fire boots that I wore in the late 40's & 50's are shown at: [url]www.classicboots.com/fire/34boots/34fire.htm.[url] Hip boots are all I see for sale by Darley and the rest of the suppliers and manufacturers. I used hip boots for trapping muskrats. They go up to the inseam on the inside and hip outside. 3/4's go half way up the thigh, 24-25 inches. Where am I going wrong and why am I confused?
