    LOS ANGELES, CA:
    Los Angeles Firefighter Needs Help!

Testing for the National Bone Marrow Program

In June of 2003, Firefighter Gus Perez of the Los Angeles Fire Department, was diagnosed with Chronic Myloid Leukemia. In order for Gus to live a long and healthy life, he must have a bone marrow transplant in the near future.

The Los Angeles Fire Department along with the City of Hope is sponsoring 6 blood drives at three separate locations.

Anyone interested in participating must sign-up for desired location by calling Los Angeles Fire Stations 17, 38 or 48 no later than 5 days prior to the actual testing date.

The sign-ups are broken into 20-minute time slots. The City of Hope requires a minimum of 50 sign-ups per day. If this number is not reached then the drive will be canceled.

Please spread the word and get involved. The testing will take approximately 1 hour.

Don't miss out on this important opportunity to not only save Gus' life but possibly the lives of many others in need of a bone marrow transplant.
