How many explorer posts / cadet / junior / or whatever have members who are related to someone on the sponsoring department?
Years back, my post was made up almost entirely of the kids of the FF. Now, 100% of the explorers are not related to anyone on the department.
Another question:
If your group has members who are not related to others on the department, how did they find out about the program?

my dad is on the white lake fire dept. (were we live). i am on the highland twp. fire dept. (right next to white lake) beacuse that is the only explorer post around here.
i am only about 3/4 of a mile from my station. the back half of our nehiborhood is in highland twp. so it is not a far drive to go on calls.IF YOU FOLLOW ALL OF THE RULES YOU MISS ALL OF THE FUN.

My mother is on the same Fire Co. as I am, I joined first and she kept driving me back and forth so I told her she should join and she did and is now FF1 certified along with many other courses, yeah you can say I'm proud of her.

Hmmm...
-Great-Grandfather was a volunteer firefighter after the world wars.
-Grandfather is a full time chief of a "large" VT department.
-Mother is not affiliated to Fire/EMS other then the rides and talk she hears from me.
-I am a (soon to be) Junior FF with a Fire/EMS department, but am currently an EMS Explorer with one all ems department, do training with 2 others, and third ride with a different fire department.

Myself - My grandfather is a current active member with 55+ years, along with my father, my uncle, and a couple of cousins, all active. My great grandfather was a member years ago.
LT.- His Uncle is the Chief, and has a few cousins in.
Secretary - His father is an active member.
One Explorer has a father. Another has a grandfather. And the last has a father who is an Assistant Chief, and a grandfather who is active.
All of the Explorers has family who are also in the Fire Department.IACOJ

Myself and my step-dad. My step dad was a FF for 33 yrs. and ended his career in the early 1990's as a LT. He was re-enstated as a POC Command Aid in 1994 and he is currently still holding that position. And my step-brother is an explorer also. We are one big happy family!!!
