    Question Florida Firefighter Certification

Hello, I am a career FF in Massachusetts. I plan on moving to Florida and would like to continue my career as a FF. Florida requires state certification of their own. Has anyone out there challenged the Florida Fire Certification process??? Any help would greatly be appreciated! Thanks

I had looked into it myself a year or two ago and the hoops you had to jump through were absolutely rediculous. It almost seemed like it was easier to spend 6 months going through the fire training programs in state and taking the exam that way. You get one shot as an out of stater and I had heard from some on this board that the examiners were not all that friendly to the challenging process or candidates. These were the opinions of a few so take from that what you will.

Firefighter programs down here are 13 weeks for full time and about 5 1/2 months for part time.
