im doing a school project on modernization of firefighting from 1900- to the present. i am mainly going to be focusing on apparatus, turnout gear/scba, and handtools as well as the newer things like thermal imaging cameras. any info or pictures of either past or present stuff would be greatly appreciated. thanks. steve

Ya know what... talking to line guys & officers who have been on the job more than 25 years will be able to talk of the more recent changes. BA's are a very modern change from the last 30+ years, as are the gear styles & materials. I would say the basic function of our apparatus would be among the least impressive unless you get into pumping more water per minute. Talking to the older (read "seasoned") guys should yield some great information to get started at least. Good luck!
