    Speaking of North Providence...
    Has anyone heard from Puffy?

Iím sure those will be high quality. Doesnít just one decent public safety grade radio cost at least that much?

Hey, maybe they can buy those Motorolas NY is getting rid of.

    Post $1,000 for radios?

That will get them some good analog radios but nothing that is P-25 or digital capable much less a big M. A basic P25 moble will set you back a minimum of $2,000. Closer to $3,000 if you want a remote head or any added digital toys. Plan on $5,000+ for a full feature Motorola after programming and install.

Of course I'm not a big fan of Motorola, I feel they are to heavy, big, limited in capabilities and bloody expensive. You can always buy better but you'll never pay more.

Anyone remember when a basic 16 channel RELM mobile did everything you needed and cost about the same as a couple lengths of new 2 1/2?

    -Dave

ps: For $1,000 they can get 3 Relm RM series VHF 25 watt 128 channel radios and 1/4 wave antennas. Install is extra.

I wouldn't spend money on a piece of Relm equipment if they were the last manufacturer on earth. I'd rather yell really loud.

We shouldn't be spending a lot of money on anything P25 because it is useless to us in the fire service (see the most recent thread about digital)

A decent fire-service-friendly analog conventional two way radio with the neccessary accessories will probably run anywhere from $600-$800 each. While the $1000 grant is noble and nice, it is only enough to buy one radio.

Maybe they meant to put 100,000 instead of 1,000?

That would mean my post doesn't exist. Could this all be a dream? Maybe the "Matrix" movies are reality, and being shown as a movie was the "Real" World's way to wake me up... I keep thinking that the movie "Matrix" would be the scenario if we (humans) lost to the machines in the "Terminator" world.

The internet doesn't exist, this has all been just a sampling of MicroSoft's mind control powers... All Hail Master Gates... (He might be the Lawnmower Man that Stephen King warned us about..)

    I'm scared, very scared.

But if you recall correctly, Al Gore created the internet...

Does this mean he is a drone in the Microsoft Conspiracy Theory?

Obviously a Conundrum here. Nothing Al did seems to be verifiable, so therefor, the Internet shouldn't exist.
