Default Need help, need opinions for the dreaded SENIOR PAPER!

Hey guys, it's that time of year for HS Seniors, when everything's just starting to come together in preparation for graduation in a few months. One of those things that has to be done is the senior paper, and wanting to write about a topic that I had interest in and that will help in my career, I chose labor unions. More specifically, what are the advantages and disadvantages of joining the IAFF or other professional firefighters union? Paid and volunteer opinions are welcomed, just don't bash each other. If you guys would, please provide your opinion of advantages and disadvantages, from YOUR point of view, and please don't get the whole paid vs. volly thing going. Thanks in advance!

These are my opinions, not those of my career department, my volunteer company, or my affiliates. And by the way, I'm not a Junior.

Buy me a drink, sing me a song, take me as I come 'cause I can't stay long.

    Do a search.
Type in "career/volunteer or union/non-union" and you will get more than enough information for your paper.

The search is an excellent method. I also suggest talking with any local "Local" representatives of the fire departments around your area. First hand information is great for reports.
