    Talking

Funny!!...scan the items on the way to the AED
    ...Shiraz Wine
    ...Microwave
    ...Lifepak AED

You can get anything at Costco!!
Once again....the above views are my own and not that of my department. (And probably should not be construed as having any real meaning, whatsoever!)

One guy in the department was talking about something he saw on TV about soon they will get the price down to the $100-200 range so that most people can afford them.

This is a great thing. It would be nice if half the people out there would take CPR and thats free or cheap but they don't. Don't see alot of people in our district buying one.

I thought they were supposed to be cheaper, that is about $600 more than we paid for ours

I really do not think it will be a big seller

The reason it's more expensive is that it's not just the AED you're buying, but the "Complete CPR/AED Solution", which includes a contract with LifeLinkMD (a subsidiary of Medtronic) which includes your prescription, medical oversight, registration with the local EMSA, customer support and training for up to 5 people. EMS providers don't usually need this service because they already have the medical oversight piece and generally do the training.

We actually used LifeLinkMD for the medical oversight for our workplace AED program at my last job (oil company). All we had to do was handle the training and send the records to them, as well as send them the datacard if we ever had to use the device (which we didn't).

The ultimate WHACKER gift. For the type of FF who is issued everything he needs to do his job and still spends $400 on a leather helmet, $250 on leather zipup boots and $2500 on a new LED lightbar for their POV.
