    Default Anyone from Philly

The agency that I work for is sending me the Philly from March 18 to the 22. I will have some time during the morning of March 19 and was wondering if anyone from Philly's Engine 1/Ladder 5 is around at that time.

I would love to come by and look at your equipment, swap some stories, etc.

    Thanks in advance.

Go by the station. If you are a firefighter from out of town, they will welcome you. Big city firefighters aren't all that bad. Most stations I have visited like to see brothers and sisters stop by from out of town. It a good morale booster for them.

If by Richmond, Stop in and say Hi.

    Good Luck and Have fun.

That is an awesome house to visit. "Rollin' On Broad Street." Ask them to show you the bullet holes in the back of the bunkroom door.

    311 S. Broad Street.

If you are coming from 95, it's on the right hand side of Broad Street about one mile off of I95.

If you are coming southbound on Rt.611 (Broad Street) from Pa, it will be on your left about 3 blocks or so past South Street. Little Brick Firehouse with two bays. It's right outside of Center City.

Trust me, they will make your visit worthwhile. I am not a big fan of visiting Fire Stations, but when I get up to Philly, I try to stop there. Also try Rescue 1, Engine 11 and the Firemen's Hall Museum on Race Street. Rescue 1 you would have to ask someone for Firections to, but Engine 11 is on South Street.

    Happy Hunting.

Thanks, don't think I will get a chance to visit many places while I am there. I think Friday morning will be the only chance that I get to go anywhere, but I am not sure.

I will be staying at the Marriot about a mile from this station so it will be a nice walk (if you recommend walking).
