    Somewhere between genius and insanity!

Default The end of an era... part 3

The third incarnation of Marlborough Rescue 1 went out of service this morning at 08:00 hours.

The first incarnation of Rescue 1 was a Utilimaster box truck mounted on a GMC chassis that was put in service in the mid 1960s. It carried medical an d extrication gear.

The second incarnation of Rescue 1 was a 1980 E-One GMC quick attack rescue pumper built on a GMC medium duty chassis with a 250 GPM pump, 300 gallons of water and two preconnects and compartment space for EMS and extrication equipment.

The third incarnation of Rescue 1 was an E-One built on a 1988 Ford F-600 chassis. The Rescue featured a walk in box and carried even more "stuff" than its predecessor.

The fourth incarnation of Rescue 1 arrives on March 16th. It is a Saulsbury medium duty rescue built on a Freightliner FL-80 chassis, with a non walk in body with rollup up doors.
